    Essentials White Core mat board is a quality North American made mat board with a great variety of colors for decorative framing. The bright white Eco-Core is made of recycled paper and is buffered to be pH neutral (Acid-Free). This mat is best used for decorative framing and is not of conservation quality.

    Opening Size Instructions

    Openings are cut to the size you specify; normally you will want an opening 1/2" smaller per dimension than your artwork. This gives space to hinge and prevents it falling through the mat opening. So, for example, an 8x10 photo would use a 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 opening.

    Sizes are listed by width first, and height second. Example 8" (width) by 10" (height).

    Please make sure that the opening width and height do not exceed the size dimensions.

      I haven't actually had time to use the mats yet (Christmas) but I have to say their service was wonderful. I was dismayed at the large shipping costs (I am living only three hours north of MatShop), and all it took was a phone call and they were working on it. Although it remained a bit pricey, I got the best available shipping charges. Also they squeezed my order into the week before Christmas and had it delivered in record time.

      Matshop’s custom mats are excellent. I draw in custom sizes, so always need custom mats. These are always cut to my exact measurements. They’re perfect!

      Always so convenient to be able to combine such a large choice of colours for particular images, and the price is not high for a custom order. I like being able to choose oval and a bigger reveal.
