    Conservation matboard is of archival quality and will provide a lifetime of protection. Matboard core is white. You must use conservation (acid-free) backings and tape with these mats for effective protection.

    Opening Size Instructions

    Openings are cut to the size you specify; normally you will want an opening 1/2" smaller per dimension than your artwork. This gives space to hinge and prevents it falling through the mat opening. So, for example, an 8x10 photo would use a 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 opening.

    Sizes are listed by width first, and height second. Example 8" (width) by 10" (height).

    Please make sure that the opening width and height do not exceed the size dimensions.

      Another lovely colour

      MIro is a lovely classic colour suggesting a study/library, and a single mat can be made to look double with a simulated inner mat. I print on 100% cotton. I get 3/16 in. backing to add substance, and the whole package is archival and can be sold as such.

      Mats and samples

      The mats are much thinner than I expected. I think thicker mats look richer and higher end.The colour on the site looks nothing like what was delivered.Also, it would be nice if the samples were bevelled.
