V-Grooves in your mat

V-Grooves in your mat

You may have heard or seen v-grooves in a matboard. They are that slight V shaped groove cut in the surface of a matboard that provide an accent line around the beveled opening that houses your art or photo.

The shallow cut across the mat exposes the core colour of the top mat. V-Grooves can, for example show as white or black depending on the mat core colour. A V-Groove can offer additional impact without the need for multiple mat-boards, adding dimension and a dynamic design element.

Want to try and spice up your single mat without adding a second bottom mat? Consider a V-Groove!

Add it to your next order of single mats!  Note.  A V-groove looks best when used on a  color of mat that contrasts the color of the matboard core.  ie:  Use a v-grrove on  a white mat to contrast a black core - or on a black mat to contrast a white core.
